Park Hours of Operation

Waterfront Park is open daily from 7am-10pm unless posted otherwise.

The restroom is open daily from 8a-7p (10pm June-Sept)

Park Operations Partnership Model

Waterfront Park is operated by the City of Seattle, with Seattle Center as the lead operating department in partnership with our non-profit partner, Friends of Waterfront Park. The City provides maintenance, including landscaping, and public safety while Friends provides programming and activation, and social service outreach and engagement.

1. Pier 62 and Floating Dock

The City rebuilt Pier 62 and was the first portion of the new waterfront park to open to the public in 2020.

2. Pier 58 (Formerly known as Waterfront Park)

A new public space that features the Fitzgerald water fountain, jellyfish playground, open space and turf lawn.

3. Alaskan Way East and Union Street

The eastern portion of the park that connects the central waterfront to the downtown core between King and Pike Street. Union street provides a pedestrian bridge and elevator for greater accessibility.

4. Waterfront Park Promenade

The Waterfront Park Promenade from King to Pier 62 features several park features including benches, bike racks, water fountains, a boardwalk, art installations and swings. Pioneer Square beach is nestled at the end of Pioneer Square along with the restored Washington Street Boat Landing, which will feature Molly Moon’s ice cream.

5. Railroad Way Plazas

The RR plazas connect the stadium district to the waterfront and downtown through programming and activation, not only on game and event days, but on a daily basis.

6. Overlook Walk

This elevated structure provides a scenic space to enjoy the states breathtaking views of the mountains and Puget sound. With a pathway, playground, café, and bench seating featured.

Park Maintenance

Seattle Center provides daily maintenance of Waterfront Park and coordinates with other city departments when maintenance is required that falls within their jurisdiction.

Central Waterfront Oversight Committee (CWOC)

Mission
The Central Waterfront Oversight Committee was established in 2019 by City Council Ordinance 125761 . The committee’s role is to advise and provide feedback to the City and Friends of Waterfront Park on the ongoing operations and maintenance of the Waterfront Park. The committee’s oversight work will include maintenance, public safety, outreach, communications, partnerships, and programming and activation.
