The free, family-oriented event returns to Seattle Center from August 9–10

SEATTLE, WA— Celebrate the vibrant traditions, resilience, and cultural richness of the Tibetan people at Tibet Fest from Saturday, August 9, from 11 a.m.–5 p.m. to Sunday, August 10, from 12 p.m.–5 p.m. as part of Seattle Center Festál at the Seattle Center Armory Food & Event Hall. This year’s festival embraces the theme “Year of Compassion” in honor of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday.
This free, family-friendly event features two days of dynamic dance performances by artists from the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts, as well as student groups from the local Tibetan Language & Culture School. Attendees will enjoy traditional and contemporary Tibetan music, food, art, and storytelling in an atmosphere of cultural pride and community.

Festival highlights include:
• A rare exhibit of Tibetan artifacts curated by the Burke Museum
• The Dalai Lama’s 90th Birthday Collection, on loan from the Office of Tibet
• Handcrafted goods and artisan wares from vendors like Tibetan Handicraft Emporium, Lhasa Trade, Pema Karpo, Native Creations, and the Tibetan Nuns Project
• Delicious food from Kathmandu MoMoCha and wellness treats from Amza Superfoods

“This is our opportunity for the Tibetan Association of Washington to share our Tibetan cultural music and heritage with the Pacific Northwest community,” said Tibet Fest organizer Sanggay Tsognyi.
